Job summary

Coastal International Security, Inc. in Los Alamos seeks an Engineering Technologist 3 - Mechanical Design Checker for the W93 program.

You will check design definitions, GD&T, and MBD across Creo, PDMLink, and related tools to ensure form, fit, and producibility. The role involves mentoring junior staff, guiding design iterations, and supporting weapon system configuration management for DoD/NNSA customers, with frequent collaboration with Sandia and Lockheed Martin Space design teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field and 8+ years of directly related experience
• Hands-on CAD experience with design checking, MBD, and GD&T
• DOE/NNSA related experience or familiarity is preferred

Responsibilities

• Check design definitions for form, fit, and function and MBD compliance
• Conduct GD&T and tolerance stack analyses
• Review producibility of product definitions and reduce rejects
• Mentor junior staff on MBD and GD&T
• Lead design reviews for design, manufacture, assembly, and test
• Support weapon system configuration management workflows
• Collaborate with teams across DoD/NNSA customers and partner labs
