Job summary

Strategic Management Solutions, LLC (SMSI) is hiring multiple full-time Mechanical Designers to support the W93 Systems Development and Realization group at Los Alamos National Laboratory, onsite in Los Alamos, NM. Candidates must be US citizens and capable of working on classified networks with a DOE Q clearance.

You will review and check design definitions, apply Creo CAD, GD&T, and MBd methods, mentor staff, and develop solutions for complex weapon-system design tasks in a high-security

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Science, Math or related field with 8 years related experience, or equivalent.
• Active DOE Q clearance or recently inactive Q clearance preferred.
• US citizenship required; on-site LANL work; RealID compliant driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Review and check design definitions for W93 Systems Development and Realization group.
• Guide teams through design iterations to address defects.
• Mentor junior staff on MBd principles and GD&T practices.
• Develop technical solutions for complex engineering problems using independent judgment.
• Contribute to design reviews for weapon-system configuration and documentation.
