Job summary

BGI seeks an Engineering Technologist 3 to review and verify engineering designs for accuracy, manufacturability, and compliance with standards. You will use Creo 3D CAD, MBD, and GD&T to support the next-generation Navy submarine-launched ballistic missile warhead system, independently checking models and drawings and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

This is an on-site role in Los Alamos, NM. Responsibilities include leading design reviews, supporting configuration management,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field with 8+ years of experience.
• Advanced knowledge of mechanical CAD and engineering principles.
• Experience with Creo 3D CAD and PDMLink PLM.
• Experience checking 3D models and using Model-Based Definition.

Responsibilities

• Review Creo 3D CAD models and drawings for form, fit, function and design intent.
• Evaluate MBD, GD&T and tolerance stack-up analyses.
• Verify manufacturability, inspection, assembly and testing requirements.
• Identify defects and propose solutions to complex engineering problems.
• Support configuration management for release of models and specs.
• Lead and participate in design reviews with multidisciplinary teams.
• Recommend improvements to design standards and MBD processes.
• Provide guidance to junior staff and manage multiple assignments.
