Job summary

RTX is seeking an experienced mechanical design leader for an onsite role in MA. You will guide major programs, coordinate with cross-functional teams, and ensure technical and cost objectives are met across the full development lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a STEM degree and 10+ years experience, or an advanced degree with 7+ years experience.
• Mechanical equipment design and development experience, preferably in defense environments.
• Proven leadership with accountability for cost, schedule and technical performance.

Responsibilities

• Lead execution of major programs and cross-functional engineering teams across development phases.
• Serve as SME and liaison to programs/IPTs; ensure stakeholder alignment.
• Oversee technical performance of design teams and provide lifecycle engineering guidance.
• Lead proposal efforts, EAC activities, and manage schedule, cost, and technical commitments.
• Drive TDP development, peer reviews, and hardware engineering process improvements.
• Perform complex mechanical design, development, and documentation for defense systems.
• Support product integration with domestic/international factories and suppliers.
• Collaborate with Chief Engineers and suppliers to deliver robust solutions.
