Job summary

RTX in Massachusetts is seeking a mechanical engineer to contribute to mission-critical defense systems across radar, missile, and command-and-control platforms. You will participate in the full product lifecycle from concept through prototyping, testing, and factory support in a collaborative, cross-disciplinary team onsite in Tewksbury.

The role requires a STEM degree and hands-on CAD experience; DoD Secret clearance is required to start, with eligibility for interim clearance.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a STEM field obtained by start date.
Hands-on CAD experience generating 3D models and 2D drawings.
Experience with mechanical design through coursework or projects.
U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain DoD security clearance.

Responsibilities

Design, model, and document mechanical components, sub-assemblies, and major end items.
Generate and maintain parametric 3D CAD models, assemblies, and detailed drawings.
Validate design fit, form, and functionality through prototyping, testing, and simulations.
Support factory operations, integration facilities, and suppliers with product manufacturing, assembly, and integration.
Participate actively in design peer reviews, resolve technical action items, and conduct trade studies.
Collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineering teams to analyze and resolve mechanical hardware issues.
