Job summary

Northrop Grumman is hiring Mechanical Design Engineers Level 2/3 to join our team at Ocean Springs, MS or Cape Canaveral, FL. The role supports rapid growth in launcher hardware, with opportunities to help develop designs for Navy platforms.

The position requires strong CAD skills, GD&T knowledge, and the ability to work autonomously or in a team. U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a Secret clearance are required. Onsite work four days a week.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or higher in a STEM field with relevant work experience for Level 2 or a Master’s with fewer years; Level 3 requires more experience.
Experience in machine design and drawing generation.
Ability to plan tasks and execute to schedule.
US citizenship required; ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret Clearance.

Responsibilities

Develop designs concept and generate solid models reflecting concepts.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders balancing technical, schedule, and cost requirements.
Conduct trade studies to evaluate best design approaches.
Oversee generation of engineering drawings using GD&T practices.
Identify procurement needs and support fabrication; provide assembly checkout and test support.
Generate task plans and support proposals; occasional domestic travel may be required.
