Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking Mechanical Design Engineers Level 2/3 to join our team in Ocean Springs, MS. You will design, model, and analyze launcher hardware for Navy platforms, collaborating with stakeholders to balance costs and schedules.

The role requires machine design experience, CAD proficiency, and the ability to obtain a Secret clearance. Onsite work four days a week is required, with potential for different grade levels depending on qualifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline with 2 years relevant work experience, or Master’s Degree with no relevant work experience.
• Experience in machine design and drawing generation.
• Ability to plan tasks and execute to schedule.
• US citizenship required.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Secret Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Develop designs concept and generate solid models reflecting concepts.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders balancing technical, schedule, and cost requirements.
• Conduct trade studies to select and evaluate best design approaches.
• Oversee generation of engineering drawings using GD&T practices.
• Identify procurement needs and support fabrication.
• Provide assembly checkout and test support.
• Generate task plans and support proposal efforts.
• Occasional domestic travel may be required.
