Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer Level 4 in Ocean Springs, MS. You will join the Marine Systems launcher hardware team, developing concepts and detailed designs for weapon platforms and Navy platforms.

The role requires a STEM degree with substantial design experience, US citizenship, and ability to obtain a Secret clearance. Onsite work four days per week is mandatory, with potential travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor/Master/PhD in STEM with appropriate years of experience (per degree).
• Experience in machine design and drawing generation.
• US citizenship and ability to obtain/maintain a Secret clearance.
• Onsite 4 days a week; remote not allowed.

Responsibilities

• Develop designs concepts and generate solid models reflecting those concepts.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders balancing technical, schedule, and cost requirements.
• Conduct trade studies to select and evaluate best design approaches.
• Oversee the generation of engineering drawings using GD&T practices.
• Identify procurement needs and support fabrication.
• Provide assembly checkout and test support.
• Generate task plans and support proposal efforts.
• Occasional domestic travel may be required.
