Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking Mechanical Design Engineers Level 2 to join our team based out of Ocean Springs, MS. The Marine Systems organization, part of Northrop Grumman Mission Systems, is expanding to support launcher hardware for Navy platforms. This role requires on site presence.

Responsibilities include design concept development, GD&T drawing generation, and collaboration with stakeholders. A Bachelor’s in STEM with 2 years’ experience or a Master’s with no experience is required; US

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in STEM with 2 years relevant work experience or Master’s Degree with no relevant work experience.
Experience in machine design and drawing generation.
Ability to plan tasks and execute to the established schedule.
US citizenship required.
Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Secret Clearance.

Responsibilities

Develop designs concept and generate solid models that reflect those concepts.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders balancing technical, schedule, and cost requirements.
Conduct trade studies to select and evaluate best design approaches to fulfill requirements.
Oversee the generation of engineering drawings using GD&T practices.
Identify procurement needs and support fabrication.
Provide assembly checkout and test support.
Generate task plans and support proposal efforts.
Occasional domestic travel may be required.
