Job summary

RTX is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer in the United States to join a focused, cross-functional team of engineers. You will develop highly reliable aerospace products that meet customer requirements and cost targets, working with systems engineers to converge requirements and deliver designs with emphasis on accuracy and quality.

You will lead design efforts, review layouts for clarity and conformance, and provide technical leadership, mentoring less experienced engineers as needed.

Qualifications

• Requires STEM degree and 5+ years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with 3+ years.
• Aerospace environment experience preferred.
• NX solid modeling experience.
• Knowledge of ANSI/ASME Y14.5 tolerancing and stack-ups; FAA/EASA regulation experience is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Review specs and define design requirements.
• Estimate effort and duration for tasks.
• Collaborate with Systems Engineers on requirements convergence.
• Design layouts and perform stack-up analyses.
• Lead and mentor junior engineers when needed.
• Develop data and drawings to present proposals.
