Job summary

Pratt & Whitney in East Hartford is seeking a Mechanical Controls Hardware Systems Engineer to join the Control System Engineering & Electrification (CSEE) organization. You will develop, integrate and certify LAT and F&A jet engine control subsystems and hardware from concept to certification.

The role involves working with suppliers, leading hardware changes, and performing field data analyses to identify root causes, while coordinating with Diagnostics and Prognostics for Health Management

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM and 5 years of engineering experience or 3 years with an advanced degree.
• Experience with suppliers and cross-functional collaboration.
• Familiarity with gas turbine engine operation, hardware and function.
• Systems engineering with requirements management tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain controls hardware specifications, requirements, and deviations.
• Resolve supplier compliance gaps and participate in Supplier Technical Reviews.
• Support Development Validation Testing issue resolution and hardware readiness.
• Lead hardware change implementation and track field issues.
• Analyze field data for root-cause and coordinate with SMEs.
• Develop tools for large data processing and support investigations.
