Job summary

Batchelor & Kimball in the Southeast and Midwest seeks a Senior Project Manager to lead large-scale mechanical construction projects. You will steer pre-construction, planning, and field execution, coordinating with field PMs, GCs, and owners to deliver on time and on budget.

You will manage subcontractors, review budgets, and drive change orders while maintaining safety standards and strong client relationships. Independent work with minimal oversight is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CM/Engineering or 10 years of related experience.
• Minimum of 4 years leading large multi-million-dollar complex construction projects.
• Strong leadership, scheduling, and budgeting skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and consult with field PMs, GCs, and owners. Be responsible for nurturing successful relationships to ensure the success of the projects.
• Oversee Pre-construction, preplanning, and construction project scheduling process. Leverage strong relationships with GCs to grow the Batchelor and Kimball Business.
• Manage subcontractors to ensure project timelines and budget.
• Willingly take ownership and accountability for projects under their direction.
• Solve complex problems relating to project schedule and budget as an active member of the project team.
• Review and approve project budgets (labor, material, and subcontractors) to determine allocation of resources from start to finish.
• Negotiate and create subcontractor contracts with external vendors to reach agreements beneficial to the project.
• Manage project finances including profitability and cash flow.
• Work and provide indirect leadership to construction crews.
• Lead strategic planning and project submittal, RFI and change order process.
• Implement monthly cost reports and accurate cost projections.
• Responsible for recognizing and resubmitting change orders as necessary.
• Ensure adherence to health and safety standards and report issues.
• In-depth understanding of construction procedures and project management principles.
• Maintain CAD, fabrication and field labor resources required.
• Enforce safety and cleanliness standards on site.
