Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Mechanical Analysis Manager 1 in Woodland Hills, CA, onsite on a 9/80 schedule. You will lead and execute structural and dynamic analyses for avionics hardware, develop FEMs, review designs, and mentor engineers. This role emphasizes rigorous analysis, process improvement, and collaboration across programs to ensure safety and performance.

The candidate should have a STEM degree, strong ANSYS experience, and be able to obtain a U.S. Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM or related field; 5+ years for Bachelor, 3+ with Master, or 1+ with PhD.
• Experience in structural analysis and developing FEA models using ANSYS or equivalent tools.
• Eligibility for U.S. Government Secret clearance and U.S. citizenship.

Responsibilities

• Serve as technical lead for the Mechanical Analysis team; provide guidance on structural and thermal analyses.
• Develop and oversee FEMs using CAD geometry and meshing; run solutions for various assembly levels.
• Review drawings, materials, and requirements; ensure compliance and documentation.
• Lead staff management activities: mentorship, performance reviews, and career development.
• Support MRB processes, test planning, data reduction, and correlation with models.
• Contribute to program reviews and proposals with clear analysis scope and BOEs.
