Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Mechanical Analysis Manager 1 to lead a team of engineers in Woodland Hills, CA. The role centers on structural and thermal analysis of avionics and mechanical systems, using FEM/FEA methods to deliver robust substantiation for defense programs.

The successful candidate will guide model development, ensure traceability to certification needs, and collaborate across disciplines while managing program staffing and schedules onsite.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM with 5+ years in mechanical analysis or a related field.
• Experience leading analysis teams and delivering FEM/FEA results.
• Proficiency with ANSYS and other structural analysis tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead Mechanical Analysis team and provide technical mentorship.
• Oversee structural analysis, FEM development, and verification.
• Coordinate with program management on staffing and schedules.
• Develop test plans, support testing, and correlate results with models.
• Prepare proposals and BOEs for mechanical analysis scope.
