Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems in California seeks a Principal Structural Analysis Engineer or Sr. Principal to join our Palmdale/El Segundo team on a 9/80 schedule.

Primary focus is structural modification stress analysis and manufacturing engineering for a fast-paced development effort. Responsibilities include analyzing metals, non-metals, or composites for airframe structures, evaluating damage tolerance and durability, and utilizing Catia, FEMAP, Patran, Nastran and related tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline with 5+ years’ aerospace structural analysis or Master’s with 3+ years’ experience.
• Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years’ aerospace structural analysis; or Master’s with 6+ years’ experience.

Responsibilities

• Provides stress analysis for primary and secondary structure.
• Review of completed analyses, drawings, and repairs for accuracy, clarity, and completeness.
• Coordinate with other disciplines during design solutions.
• Explain structural issues/solutions to management and customers.
• Maintain and improve part designs, equipment, and systems for production deliveries.
• Develop solutions to difficult problems aligned with program objectives.
• Evaluate as-built products for conformity to standards.
