Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems in Oklahoma City seeks a Principal or Sr. Principal Electronics Engineer - Hardware for on-site work. You will analyze tooling, interpret drawings, and develop complex models for mechanical/electro-mechanical systems used in production and testing.

The role requires CAD experience (NX/CATIA), systems engineering across the full lifecycle, and the ability to mentor junior engineers, with eligibility for a Secret clearance and up to 25% travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline with 5+ years of related engineering experience; or Master’s with 3+ years; or PhD with 1+ year.
• Sr. Principal: Bachelor’s in STEM with 8+ years; Master 6 years; PhD 4 years.
• Ability to obtain and maintain US Government Secret clearance prior to start.
• On-site work in Oklahoma City, OK.
• Experience with CAD modeling (NX, CATIA) and best fit analysis of aircraft structures.
• Knowledge of composites; mentorship for junior engineers.
• Systems engineering across lifecycle; requirements management tools (DOORS, JIRA or equivalent).
• Proven ability to lead technical efforts in cross-functional teams.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Analyze tooling and support equipment and propose rework or modern manufacturing solutions.
• Interpret engineering drawings and generate complex models and drawings.
• Establish design concepts and engineering criteria for research, development, integration and test.
• Research and develop mechanical products and systems for production and testing.
• Assess complex electro-mechanical assemblies and propose design substitutions to preserve safety and performance.
• Lead milestones, allocate resources, and drive master schedules.
• Prepare reports and present to Government counterparts and other stakeholders.
