Job summary

National Grid is seeking a Software Engineer - Maximo to design, build, and support IBM Maximo-driven assets across gas operations. You will implement integrations, automate workflows, and extend Maximo capabilities while aligning with security and delivery commitments.

You will partner with product teams, stakeholders, and systems integrators to translate requirements into robust Maximo solutions, supporting Work Management, Construction, Inspections, and Maintenance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for the Gas Enterprise Asset Management platform, including IBM Maximo 7.6 and MAS 9.
• Design, develop, configure, test, and support current- and future-state Maximo solutions across the full software delivery lifecycle.
• Deliver maintainable application changes, production fixes, performance improvements, and operational support for Maximo applications, integrations, and related components.
• Partner with business stakeholders to clarify requirements into technical designs and delivery plans.
• Guide teams in engineering best practices and operational standards.
• Apply AI-enabled development tools to improve quality and productivity where beneficial.
• Build and support integrations with enterprise systems using Web Services, REST/SOAP, Azure API Management, and Maximo Integration Framework.
• Enhance Maximo with configuration, workflows, automation, BIRT reports, and extensions.
• Troubleshoot issues across applications, integrations, and data.
• Create validation documents, test plans, and deployment evidence for auditable delivery.
• Maintain technical documentation and user guides.
• Mentor teammates and foster continuous learning and excellence.
