Job summary

National Grid is seeking an experienced Software Engineering Manager for the Maximo team in a multi-site capacity across NY/MA. You will lead the MAS 9 Maximo implementation, collaborate with an SI, and oversee ongoing support, environment management, and enhancements for Electric Operations.

Strong Maximo expertise and leadership in agile settings are essential. You will guide architectural decisions, manage outsourced services, ensure SOX controls, and drive cost-effective delivery while

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in computer science or related discipline.
10+ years of application support experience, incl. 5+ years in leadership.
5+ years managing outsourced IT managed services providers.
Experience supporting IBM Maximo v7.6 or higher with mobile integrations (e.g., Salesforce).
Previous leadership of Maximo development teams with best practices.
Proficient with Maximo concepts: automation scripts, MIF, MBO, utilities add-on.
Experience with Maximo implementations and upgrades.
Experience delivering fixes/enhancements in an agile delivery model with partner systems.
Experience supporting IBM Maximo MAS 8/9 in Azure cloud, containerization (RHOS/OpenShift).
DB2 or Oracle database concepts.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines for delivery and environment management.
Experience with COTS and Enterprise Asset Management implementations.
Strong experience integrating with SAP, Salesforce, GIS, etc.

Responsibilities

Lead design, development, maintenance, and enhancements of business apps within Maximo ecosystem.
Oversee environments and daily operations to meet SLA for system availability.
Direct team deployment and coordinate issues with support and business units.
Collaborate with stakeholders to define requirements for app modifications.
Prioritize demands to align with ROI and org goals.
Drive a continuous delivery release model and process improvements.
Ensure successful capital project implementations and smooth transition to steady-state support.
Oversee outsourced managed services and cloud/hosted contract SLAs.
Develop app monitoring strategies for performance optimization.
Identify root causes to reduce technical debt and improve reliability.
Build strong client relationships and demonstrate value via metrics.
Guide architectural decisions while managing costs and maintenance.
Manage labor and non-labor costs within annual budget.
