Job summary

Collins Aerospace is seeking a Materials & Process Engineering Senior Manager to lead our Interiors materials team, directing strategy for composite and metallic interior components.

You will oversee development, qualification, and industrialization, partnering with Design, Operations, Quality, and Supply Chain to drive manufacturability and production readiness. This role requires 10+ years in related fields and strong leadership.

Qualifications

• Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) with 10+ years experience or an advanced degree with 7+ years.
• Deep knowledge of composites, resin systems, bonding, cure and finishes.
• Proven experience leading teams and building engineering capability.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a global Materials & Process Engineering team, fostering technical growth, strong collaboration, and a culture of continuous improvement.
• Serve as the technical authority for materials, processes, and specifications across interiors product lines, ensuring compliance with aerospace regulatory and customer requirements.
• Oversee development, characterization, and qualification of composite materials, adhesive systems, metallic finishes, and other interior-related materials.
• Partner closely with Design Engineering, Operations, Quality, and Supply Chain to industrialize new materials and processes, improve manufacturability, and support rate production.
• Drive root-cause analysis and corrective actions for material and process-related nonconformities, ensuring long-term robustness and performance.
• Build and maintain strategic relationships with suppliers, research institutions, and industry partners to stay ahead of emerging technologies and best practices.
• Champion process optimization, automation opportunities, and documentation improvements to increase efficiency and production readiness.
• Manage resources, project priorities, budgeting, and staffing to ensure team execution aligns with company goals.
