Collins Aerospace is seeking a highly skilled Materials & Process Engineering Senior Manager to lead the Interiors materials team. You will drive materials strategy, oversee composite and metallic finishes, and ensure industrialization from development to production.

Step-in leadership role requiring a STEM degree with 10+ years in materials/process engineering, strong cross-functional collaboration, and experience with aerospace standards and supplier partnerships. Onsite roles across the U.S.

Qualifications

• Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) with 10+ years experience, or an Advanced Degree with 7+ years.
• Deep knowledge of composite materials, resin systems, bonding, cure processes, finishing systems, and qualification/verification methods.
• Proven experience leading teams and building engineering capability.
• Experience in industrialization, production support, and transitioning technology to manufacturing.
• Strong communication, stakeholder engagement, and cross‑functional leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a global Materials & Process Engineering team, fostering technical growth and collaboration.
• Serve as the technical authority for materials, processes, and specifications across Interiors product lines.
• Oversee development, characterization, and qualification of composites, adhesives, and metallic finishes.
• Partner with Design, Operations, Quality, and Supply Chain to industrialize new materials and processes.
• Drive root-cause analysis and corrective actions for material/process nonconformities.
• Build and maintain relationships with suppliers and research partners to stay ahead of technologies.
• Champion process optimization, automation, and documentation improvements.
• Manage resources, priorities, budgets, and staffing to meet goals.
