Collins Aerospace is seeking a Senior Materials & Processes Engineer to support composites, prepregs, and structural adhesives used in nacelle applications. You will create and maintain materials specifications, support program design teams, and resolve complex questions from operations and suppliers.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience.
• Experience with composites, prepregs, structural adhesives, and aerospace organic/metallic materials.
• Experience with technical writing (specifications, test plans, and reports).
• Experience with MS Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Develop technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems requiring creativity, sound judgment, and alignment with program objectives.
• Create, maintain, and approve materials and process specifications for composites, prepregs, and structural adhesives.
• Lead special-process supplier qualifications and audits.
• Conduct root cause investigations and develop corrective/preventive actions for process failures or quality issues.
• Serve as a technical contact for external customers and suppliers; deliver technical presentations.
• Develop qualifications, certification, and acceptance material property values.
• Lead small technical teams and mentor early-career engineers.
• Travel up to 20% domestically and internationally.
