Job summary

Collins Aerospace is seeking a Senior Materials & Processes Engineer to support composites, prepregs, adhesives, and other organic materials used in nacelle applications. You will create and maintain material specifications, provide technical support to design teams, and resolve complex questions from Operations and suppliers.

Travel up to 20%. You will lead small technical teams, mentor engineers, and contribute to supplier qualifications and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience.
• Experience with composites, prepregs, structural adhesives, and aerospace organic/metallic materials.
• Experience with technical writing (specifications, test plans, and reports).
• Experience with MS Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Develop technical solutions to complex problems aligning with program objectives.
• Create and maintain materials and process specifications for composites, prepregs, and adhesives.
• Lead special-process supplier qualifications and audits.
• Conduct root cause investigations and implement corrective actions.
• Serve as technical contact for customers and suppliers; deliver presentations.
