Job summary

Terracon is seeking a department leader to supervise multiple projects in progress, ensuring work is delivered on time and to client specifications, while aligning with company policies and standards.

The role includes overseeing staffing, training, performance reviews, and the daily operations of the department, with emphasis on safety, quality, and timely deliverables, and driving business development to win new opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline (Engineering, Environmental Science or Geology) with 5 years’ practice experience, or 9 years’ related experience in lieu of a degree.
• Master’s degree or PhD preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare proposals and cost estimates.
• Support business and client development activities.
• Develop and manage staffing plans, recruitment and onboarding.
• Prepare and execute annual departmental business plan.
• Monitor key metrics: revenue growth, staff chargeability, billing and collections, profitability.
• Understand project risks and protect the Company.
• Lead safety efforts and promote a safe work environment.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science or Geology

Master’s degree or PhD (preferred)
