Job summary

RTX in Tucson, AZ is seeking a Sr. Manufacturing Development Engineer to lead and coordinate projects across the extended value streams, providing technical manufacturing support to a program from early development through transition to production onsite.

You will apply manufacturing capabilities, product technologies, factory requirements and business processes to establish and execute the manufacturing plan and influence program decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in STEM and minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
• Experience with manufacturing production and process development/improvement.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance (secret) and interim clearance.
• Experience working on programs requiring special program access.
• Knowledge of CAD/technical drawing and GD&T concepts.
• Experience with MRP systems and cross‑functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Develop Manufacturing Data Packages (MDPs) including assembly instructions, workflow/routing, labor standards, tool and fixture designs.
• Provide technical input and peer review to engineering designs and design changes.
• Provide technical guidance and problem solving to factory engineers.
• Apply manufacturing engineering skills across the extended value stream to resolve constraints and improve designs.
• Serve as the manufacturability authority within the program and recommend process changes to meet cost, quality and schedule goals.
• Design and improve producibility of products through multi‑discipline collaboration.
