Job summary

Compass Real Estate in New York seeks a Senior Manager of Workplace Operations & Facilities to lead a team responsible for 700K-1M sq ft across a designated territory, focusing on strategy, maintenance, capital planning, budget management, compliance, and vendor performance.

You will manage up to eight direct reports, drive high-touch service for agents and staff, collaborate on cost-control initiatives, and ensure safety and data accuracy across our offices.

Qualifications

• Experience: 7-10 years in Workplace Operations or Facilities Management.
• 5-7 years directly managing team members.
• 6+ years of project/program management, including 4+ years leading enterprise workplace/facilities programs.
• Strong background in soft/hard facilities services (catering, janitorial, security, MEP maintenance) and familiarity with lease operations.
• Vendor management: negotiation, contract administration, and SLA enforcement.
• Core competencies: exceptional problem-solving, strategic decision-making, and written/verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and empower up to eight direct reports. Define onboarding plans, KPIs, training, and drive team performance.
• Oversee workplace experience, maintenance, and operations across offices in the portfolio.
• Analyze work order metrics and performance data to resolve service gaps and improve productivity.
• Maintain accurate real-time office and facility data across company systems.
• Budgeting and cost-control: collaborate on annual operating and CapEx budgets; drive cost-reduction initiatives.
• Ensure governance, safety, and vendor contract oversight across the portfolio.
