Job summary

AbbVie is seeking a Sr Manager Process Excellence Lead (PEL) to optimize Oncology Early Development processes, including clinical operations, data management, statistics, and medical monitoring. You will define KPIs, own process health, and drive continuous improvement across a complex matrixed organization.

As a senior leader, you will partner with functional heads to implement governance, drive change management, and ensure training and documentation are aligned with strategic objectives for

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a regulated industry (Pharma/Healthcare) with 8+ years experience; 6+ with Masters; 4+ with PhD (required)
• 5+ years process management and continuous improvement experience preferred
• Experience with metrics to drive risk-based decisions and improvements; ability to analyze complex data sets
• Recognized leader in standard business procedures, including project and change management, with strong GxP understanding
• Strong organizational and communication skills; ability to navigate a complex matrixed organization
• Demonstrated stakeholder management with cross-functional collaboration
• Knowledge of Lean/Six Sigma; BPMP certificate or equivalent preferred

Responsibilities

• Defines and maintains process health ownership for Oncology Early Development (OED) processes
• Defines metrics and KPIs; forecasts and manages plans for processes with leadership alignment
• Responds to process-related questions; communicates trends and remediation plans
• Leads continuous process improvement to identify pain points and efficiency opportunities
• Participates in teams to update SOPs, functional specs, training materials, and process design docs
• Maintains governance of OED operating models and process frameworks; interprets standards
• Monitors performance and compliance metrics to drive improvements and determine solutions
• Demonstrates original thinking and presents ideas clearly
• Ensures sustainability of improvements with cross-functional owners and metrics
• Upholds company values; acts with integrity and accountability
