Job summary

Firefly Aerospace seeks an experienced Manager, Financial Reporting and Analysis to lead SEC reporting, technical accounting, SOX compliance, and special projects. The role reports to the Director of Financial Reporting and Analysis and requires strong leadership and U.S. GAAP expertise.

Lead the preparation and filing of SEC reports, oversee XBRL tagging, and coordinate across FP&A, operations and legal. A CPA and public company experience are highly preferred.

Qualifications

• Required Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA required.
• 5 – 7 years of progressive accounting experience, including a combination of public accounting and public company experience.
• Demonstrated experience with SEC reporting (10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, proxy, and registration statements).
• Strong expertise in U.S. GAAP, including revenue recognition (ASC 606), lease accounting (ASC 842), and stock-based compensation (ASC 718).
• Proven experience designing, implementing, and managing SOX internal controls over financial reporting.
• Experience performing and reviewing technical accounting research and preparing accounting memoranda.
• Strong leadership and people management skills, with a track record of mentoring and developing team members.
• Proven ability to collaborate with business-facing personnel to achieve outcomes.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills; enthusiasm for AI tools in accounting.
• Strong Excel skills; experience with manufacturing or aerospace industry accounting.

Responsibilities

• SEC Reporting: Lead preparation, review, and filing of SEC reports (10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, proxy, registration statements) and manage the reporting calendar.
• Technical Accounting: Research and document US GAAP applications to complex transactions; support ASC 606, ASC 842, ASC 718 analyses.
• SOX Controls: Design, implement, and maintain ICFR; coordinate with auditors and remediate findings.
• Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual statements; provide analyses and management commentary.
• Special Projects & Collaboration: Lead system implementations and process improvements; collaborate with FP&A, operations, legal and other units.
• Team Leadership: Mentor team members; foster accountability and collaboration; may supervise direct reports.
