Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a Senior Manager, Project Controls to lead the enterprise project controls function across a large portfolio of integrated design-build projects for municipal, industrial, and federal clients. This role drives governance, systems, analytics, and talent to deliver projects safely, profitably, and predictably.

The ideal candidate has deep project controls leadership in the AEC industry, with experience in integrated design-build and alternative delivery models in the water

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree.
• 15+ years of related experience.
• PMP or PgM certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Define enterprise project controls strategy, standards, methodologies, and governance model across units and regions.
• Establish project controls approaches for design-build, progressive design-build, CMAR, construction management, and other models; align design, procurement, cost, schedule, risk, and commercial controls.
• Strengthen budgeting, earned value management, forecasting, variance analysis, master scheduling, critical path, change management, contracts, and recovery planning.
• Develop indicators, project health reviews, dashboards, and actionable insights for margin, backlog, cash flow, productivity, schedule, and delivery risk.
• Lead modernization of project controls platforms, data, and workflows; promote automation and AI-enabled forecasting and reporting.
• Establish scalable standards for document management, records, configuration control, collaboration platforms, data quality, traceability, and digital delivery.
• Collaborate with leadership, operations, project management, finance, legal, risk, procurement, and delivery teams to improve outcomes.
• Lead and develop a geographically distributed team of schedulers, cost controllers, and document control professionals; build career paths and training.
