ServiceNow seeks a Sr. Manager, Data Platform in Santa Clara to lead a 6–10 engineer team building and operating core cloud-native platform services.

You will own delivery, people, and technical direction, partnering with product and platform leadership to set priorities and roadmaps. You will ensure reliability, scalability, and operability while driving down incidents across hyperscaler, on-prem, and sovereign environments.

Qualifications

• Experience integrating AI into engineering and platform work.
• 10+ years building production software with distributed systems and Kubernetes.
• 5+ years managing software engineers and building high-performing teams.
• Led teams delivering complex, business-critical systems end-to-end.
• Hands-on with major hyperscalers (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Strong knowledge of containers, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and infrastructure-as-code.

Responsibilities

• Lead, grow, and develop a team of software engineers designing, building, and operating cloud-native platform services.
• Own end-to-end delivery for the team's domain, setting priorities and roadmaps with product and platform leadership.
• Ensure reliability, scalability, and operability, establish SLOs and on-call practices, and reduce incidents across environments.
• Collaborate with principal/distinguished engineers and other teams to align with platform architecture and standards.
• Review designs and code, influence architecture, and sometimes contribute hands-on work.
• Foster a healthy, high-trust engineering culture with clear expectations and inclusive practices.
• Communicate status, risks, and trade-offs clearly to leadership and stakeholders.
