Job summary

ServiceNow is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the Data Platform to design and implement features in our cloud-native platform. You will own end-to-end development from implementation to production, focusing on reliability and scalability while collaborating with a seasoned team.

You will practically lead hands-on work, build automation, and platform services, and mentor junior engineers. The role embraces flexible office locations with hybrid presence and competitive compensation.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software development experience with a Bachelor's degree, OR 3+ years with a Master’s degree, OR PhD without experience.
• Hands-on production software experience with deploying/operating workloads on Kubernetes.
• Some hands-on experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Good programming skills in Go or willingness to work primarily in Go.
• Working knowledge of containers, CI/CD pipelines, and Git-based development workflows.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate features and services within the cloud-native platform.
• Break features into executable tasks and deliver iteratively with risk awareness.
• Collaborate with staff and senior engineers to align with platform standards.
• Contribute to reliability, scalability, and operability with tests and runbooks.
• Spend most time hands-on building automation, tooling, and platform services.
• Support junior engineers through code reviews and pair programming.
