Job summary

Axon in Boston seeks a Senior Manager, Product Enablement to lead the product documentation, release communications, localization, and AI-enabled content operations. You will manage a team of writers and instructional designers, partner with Product, Customer Success, and Marketing, and drive a strategic roadmap for enablement across product lines.

You will own governance of release notes, localization sequencing, and content standards while balancing global market needs and budgets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience in technical documentation, product content, enablement, or program management.
• 2+ years of experience as a people manager.
• Experience leading a team of 8 or more direct reports across product lines.
• Proven ability to manage multiple workstreams and stakeholders simultaneously in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
• Experience owning content or communications quality standards and governance processes.
• Experience using project and work-tracking tools (e.g., Jira, Smartsheet) and ensuring on-time delivery.
• Clear, concise communicator, written and verbal, including with senior stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to partner across teams and hold others accountable to a plan.
• Occasional travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Own the Product Enablement strategic plan and annual roadmap.
• Translate operational work into a coherent narrative with business impact (adoption, support deflection, customer satisfaction).
• Build relationships with senior leaders across Product and customer-facing pillars.
• Establish prioritization frameworks aligning content investment to needs across product pillars.
• Lead the team responsible for the Help Site, technical documentation, and product knowledge content.
• Set quality standards, style guidelines, and SOPs for content creation, review, and maintenance.
• Ensure content is accurate and kept current as products evolve.
• Own the Release Notes process and governance, ensuring clear, timely information for customers and internal teams.
• Establish regular stakeholder communications for major product areas and launches.
• Lead content localization sequencing with Localization Center of Excellence and external vendors.
• Balance global market needs, budget, and release timing for translated content.
• Drive responsible adoption of AI tools across content creation, review, and maintenance workflows.
• Document use cases, define guardrails and best practices, and lead cross-team AI fluency forums.
• Identify opportunities to use AI to increase throughput, consistency, and quality.
• Directly manage a team of ~8 direct reports aligned across product lines.
• Ensure each product line has clear content ownership and coverage; balance team capacity across software and non-software products.
• Lead, coach, and develop the team; build product and role-specific expertise.
• Build a delegation and ownership model so every workstream has a clear owner.
• Manage performance, compensation, career development, and retention; advocate with data.
• Onboard new team members and integrate acquired or transitioning teams.
• Grow cross-functional partnerships to gather inputs and resolve blockers.
• Partner with Product Managers, Engineering, Customer Success, Support, Professional Services, Training, and Marketing to align on timelines.
• Manage intake, tracking, and prioritization of content work using Jira and related tools.
• Handle escalations and stakeholder concerns with tact, clarity, and accountability.
