Job summary

Formic Technologies is seeking a Senior Manager, Accounting & Controls to strengthen Formic's accounting foundation during a period of growth. You will focus on projects critical to the success of the business, identify and implement process improvements, and partner across the Finance organization to help elevate accounting operations.

Qualifications

• CPA required (active license in good standing).
• 7–10+ years of progressive accounting experience, incl. tenure at a Top 10 public firm.
• Senior Manager level in Audit / Assurance, with leadership and team management.
• Deep technical knowledge of US GAAP, esp. revenue recognition and lease accounting.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills.
• Small-company mindset; willingness to roll up sleeves to help the team.

Responsibilities

• Support Formic through its first financial audit with schedules, reconciliations, and documentation.
• Own month-, quarter-, and year-end close, ensuring timely US GAAP reporting.
• Prepare complex accounting transactions: ASC 606, ASC 842, ASC 718.
• Prepare financial statements with supporting schedules and reconciliations.
• Design, implement, and maintain a robust internal control environment.
• Identify gaps in audit readiness and improve documentation and workflows.
• Lead documentation to develop improved processes and standards.
• Establish clear workflows for day-to-day accounting operations.
• Collaborate with Staff Accountant and finance team for alignment and efficiency.
• Drive ERP improvements, automation opportunities, and AI-enabled data accuracy.
• Develop scalable accounting procedures as the business grows.
