Job summary

IAT Insurance Group seeks a Claims Counsel in the Management Liability Claims Unit. This hybrid role handles complex claims across EPL, D&O, Fiduciary, and Crime for private and non-profit clients nationwide. Preference for onsite in an IAT office; remote arrangements may be considered for ideal candidates.

Ideal candidates have 3–7 years in management liability claims, strong negotiation and coverage analysis skills, and are licensed to practice law in the US. Travel approx. 1 day/month.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate required and active license to practice law.
• 3–7 years of management liability claims experience.
• Experience handling EPL, D&O, Fiduciary, and Crime claims.
• Excellent coverage analysis and negotiation skills.
• Willingness to travel, average 1 day per month.
• Authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Handle Management Liability Claims (EPL, D&O, Fiduciary, Crime) for Private and Non-Profit businesses.
• Analyze, investigate, negotiate and resolve claims within authority.
• Direct defense counsel and manage budgets.
• Develop litigation strategy and attend mediations and trials.
• Verify coverage and ensure compliance with policies.
• Prepare reports including Large Loss Reports.
• Maintain 24-hour contact with stakeholders throughout the claim life.
• Identify recovery opportunities and set loss/expense reserves.
• Draft coverage letters and support underwriting and marketing.
• Maintain licenses; travel as needed.
