Job summary

IAT Insurance Group is seeking a Management Liability Claims Specialist, located at any IAT office with a hybrid schedule. The role covers EPL, D&O, fiduciary, and crime claims for private and non‑profit clients, with exposure to complex litigation and coverage analysis.

You will manage defense counsel, negotiate settlements, monitor budgets, and report loss development. Travel is minimal, licenses required, and a strong customer service mindset is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree with 5+ years of management liability claims experience (including handling employment liability practices, directors & officers’ liability and fiduciary liability coverages) or equivalent
• Equivalent experience is defined as 9+ years of relevant claims experience, specifically claims involving litigation.
• Excellent coverage analysis skills with experience in drafting coverage position correspondence
• Experience handling litigated files and direction of defense counsel
• Excellent negotiation skills
• Must be willing to travel, average 1 day a month
• Claims Licensure as required by respective state(s)
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to organize, multi-task and prioritize work
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
• Ability to analyze data, utilize sound judgment to draw conclusion and make supported decisions
• To qualify, applicants must be authorized to work in the United States and must not require, now or in the future, VISA sponsorship for employment purposes
• Preferred To Have
• CPCU and other insurance related studies

Responsibilities

• Handle Management Liability Claims (EPL, D&O, Fiduciary and Crime) for Private and Non-Profit businesses based on Claim Guidelines
• Analyze, investigate, negotiate and resolve all levels of severity claims within authority limits
• Select and manage defense counsel including budget approvals
• Develop litigation/file disposition strategy and attend mediations, settlements and trials
• Verify/analyze applicable coverage for reported claims
• Follow policies and procedures including compliance, regulatory and performance standards
• Prepare reports including Large Loss Reports reflecting loss development and exposure
• Establish 24-hour contact with all stakeholders throughout the claim life cycle
• Identify and address recovery/contribution/SIU opportunities
• Set accurate/timely loss/expense reserves per guideline
• Draft correspondence including coverage letters as required
• Support business partners on claim/underwriting issues and marketing meetings
• Maintain resident/nonresident adjuster licenses as required
• Perform other duties as assigned
