Job summary

IAT Insurance Group is seeking a Claims Counsel for the Management Liability Claims Unit. This role handles complex Management Liability Claims nationally with a hybrid schedule. Candidates should have 3–7 years of claims experience including EPL, D&O, Fiduciary, and Crime, and a Juris Doctorate.

Hybrid work is available with in-office Mon-Wed and optional remote Thu-Fri. Fully remote arrangements may be considered for the ideal candidate. Travel is required about once a month.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate required and licensed to practice law in the working jurisdiction.
• 3–7 years of management liability claims experience (EPL, D&O, Fiduciary, Crime).
• Excellent coverage analysis skills and ability to draft coverage position letters.
• Litigated files experience and supervision of defense counsel preferred.
• Willingness to travel (about 1 day per month).
• Authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship not needed.

Responsibilities

• Handle Management Liability Claims (EPL, D&O, Fiduciary, Crime) for Private/Non-Profit entities.
• Analyze, investigate, negotiate and resolve claims within authority.
• Manage defense counsel, budgets and litigation strategy; attend mediations and trials.
• Verify coverage and prepare relevant reports; maintain 24-hour claim contact with stakeholders.
• Support partners on claim/underwriting issues and maintain licenses as required.
