Job summary

IAT Insurance Group is seeking a Claims Counsel in our Management Liability Claims Unit, flexible to work from any IAT location. This role handles EPL, D&O, Fiduciary and Crime claims nationwide with a hybrid schedule (office Mon-Wed, remote Thu-Fri).

Remote arrangements may be considered for the ideal candidate. Responsibilities include analyzing claims, negotiating with defense counsel, managing budgets, and developing litigation strategies.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate required.
• Licensed to practice law in the jurisdiction of work.
• 3-7 years management liability claim experience.
• Excellent coverage analysis skills and drafting coverage position letters.
• Experience handling litigated files and directing defense counsel.
• Excellent negotiation skills.
• Willing to travel, about one day per month.
• Claims Licensure as required by state(s).
• CPCU or related studies beneficial.
• Excellent oral and written communication.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Authorized to work in the United States without VISA sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Handle Management Liability Claims (EPL, D&O, Fiduciary and Crime) for Private and Non-Profit entities.
• Analyze, investigate, negotiate and resolve claims within authority.
• Direct defense counsel and approve budgets.
• Develop litigation strategy; attend mediations and trials.
• Verify coverage and draft coverage letters to stakeholders.
