Job summary

Travelers Insurance in Morristown, NJ, is seeking an experienced Claims professional to manage severe and complex liability claims. This role involves high-value FDV assessments, timely coverage analyses, and proactive communication with insureds throughout the claim lifecycle.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in handling bodily injury litigation, strong negotiation skills, and advanced knowledge of policy language and liability issues.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required.
• 10+ years claim handling experience with 5-7 years experience handling serious injury and complex liability claims.
• Extensive working knowledge of business line products.
• Excellent negotiation and customer service skills.
• Advanced skills in coverage, liability and damages analysis with understanding of the litigation process.
• Strong coaching, influence and persuasion skills.
• Strong technology aptitude.

Responsibilities

• Directly handle assigned severe claims.
• Perform full damage value assessment for each claim.
• Provide quality customer service with timely coverage analysis and communication with insured.
• Investigate claims with appropriate parties to determine liability and damages.
• Coordinate with Claim Coverage Counsel as needed.
• Maintain claim files per procedures.
• Develop and implement creative resolution strategies.
• Negotiate dispositions with insureds/claimants or legal representatives.
