Job summary

Travelers is seeking an experienced claims professional in New York to investigate, evaluate, and resolve high-value specialty claims with a focus on complex liability and bodily injury. You will manage contacts with insureds, claimants, law enforcement, medical providers and experts to determine liability and damages, while maintaining file quality and regulatory compliance.

Expect to lead litigation strategies, coordinate with counsel, and negotiate settlements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree.
• 10+ years claim handling experience with 5-7 years handling serious injury and complex liability claims.
• Extensive knowledge of commercial lines products and policy language.
• Excellent negotiation and customer service skills.
• Advanced skills in coverage, liability and damages analysis; litigation management.

Responsibilities

• Investigate, evaluate, reserve, negotiate and resolve assigned serious and complex Specialty claims.
• Provide quality claim handling across the claim life cycle with adherence to standards and regulations.
• Serve as an expert technical resource to colleagues, partners, customers and stakeholders.
• Directly handle assigned severe claims; develop litigation plans with panel counsel.
• Identify and coordinate internal and external resources for claims evaluation.
