Job summary

Essex Property Trust seeks a Senior Maintenance Technician to maintain a 400+ unit community and support multi-site management. You will perform complex repairs, manage turnovers, and participate in on-call rotations while ensuring safety and resident satisfaction.

You will mentor junior technicians, implement preventive maintenance plans, and collaborate with supervisors to allocate resources for major projects. This on-site role requires physical work and strong problem-solving.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; 2+ years in property maintenance or related field.
• HVAC and/or CPO certification preferred.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing and appliance repair.
• Familiarity with MS Office and property management software.
• English fluency; strong time management and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex repairs and maintenance on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and other equipment.
• Lead and mentor junior maintenance technicians on projects and tasks.
• Develop preventive maintenance plans and conduct regular inspections.
• Deliver timely resident service and address maintenance requests professionally.
• Respond to after-hours emergencies as part of on-call rotation.
• Ensure safety and regulatory compliance and manage inventory and supplies.
• Maintain records in SightPlan and report progress to leadership.
• Collaborate with supervisors and managers to allocate resources.
