Job summary

Essex Property Trust, Inc. seeks a Senior Maintenance Technician to uphold the physical integrity of a 400+ unit community and contribute to a high‑quality living environment.

This role reports to the Community Manager and Maintenance Supervisor and requires being on-site five days a week. You will perform complex repairs on HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems, mentor junior technicians, develop preventive maintenance plans, handle after‑hours on‑call rotations, and maintain accurate records

Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years of experience in property maintenance or facilities management.
• HVAC and/or CPO certification preferred.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and appliance repair.
• Able to read/write/speak English fluently.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex repairs and maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
• Lead and mentor junior maintenance technicians on projects.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance plans and inspections.
• Respond to after-hours emergencies as part of on-call rotation.
• Maintain accurate records in SightPlan and report progress.
