Job summary

Essex Property Trust is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform routine and preventive maintenance at one or more properties, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and appliance repairs.

You will prepare vacant units, conduct regular inspections, and respond to resident requests in a timely manner while ensuring safety compliance and organized documentation of work orders and inspections.

Qualifications

• HVAC and/or CPO license preferred.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Proficient knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and appliance repair.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license for onsite operations.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on building systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical and appliances.
• Prepare vacant units for new residents including painting and cleaning.
• Conduct regular inspections and follow a preventive maintenance schedule.
• Respond to emergency maintenance requests and be on-call as needed.
• Maintain safety and compliance with building codes; report hazards to supervisor.
