Job summary

Essex Property Trust is seeking a Senior Maintenance Technician for a Pleasanton property. The role focuses on maintaining a 400+ unit community, overseeing maintenance tasks, and supporting the Maintenance Supervisor to achieve operational goals.

You will manage work orders, unit turnovers, and safety compliance while collaborating with the Community Manager and General Operations Manager to deliver a high-quality living environment for residents.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; 2+ years in property maintenance or related field.
• HVAC and/or CPO certification preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required for onsite operations using golf carts.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex repairs and maintenance on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and other essential building systems.
• Lead and mentor junior maintenance technicians and coordinate small project teams.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance plans; conduct inspections and address issues.
• Deliver responsive resident service and promptly resolve maintenance requests, including urgent matters.
• Respond to after-hours emergencies as part of the on-call rotation.
• Ensure safety compliance with regulations, codes, and company policies.
