Job summary

Essex-Property-Trust is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform routine and preventive maintenance across one or more properties in Pleasanton. You will handle HVAC, plumbing, electrical work, replace fixtures, prep vacant units, and ensure common areas meet standards for safety and appeal.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, 2+ years in property management or similar, and a valid driver’s license. On-site five-day workweek with on-call duties and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• HVAC, electrical, and appliance repair hands-on experience.
• Knowledge of safety standards and building codes.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliances).
• Repair and maintain interior/exterior features (doors, windows, walls, flooring, fixtures).
• Prepare vacant units for new residents (painting, cleaning, repairs).
• Conduct regular inspections of property and common areas for maintenance needs.
• Implement preventive maintenance to reduce equipment failure and costs.
• Respond to emergency maintenance requests and be on-call as needed.
