Job summary

First Solar Inc. is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to perform comprehensive upkeep of facility and manufacturing equipment. You will read schematics, troubleshoot electro/mechanical systems, and mentor junior technicians in repair procedures, reporting work in the CMMS system.

The role requires knowledge of manufacturing processes, building codes, and strong communication. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, support daily work plans, and uphold OSHA/EPA safety standards

Qualifications

High school diploma required with technical training in electrical/maintenance or an equivalent program.
2-year technical/associate degree or 8+ years of maintenance experience required, or 5 years with a relevant degree.
Knowledge of manufacturing processes, electrical and mechanical systems, and building codes.
Proven communication skills and ability to read prints; basic troubleshooting and SPC/process control knowledge.

Responsibilities

Repair manufacturing equipment and understand equipment to troubleshoot effectively.
Mentor junior technicians and supervise on-site repairs when needed.
Maintain proactive maintenance and document spares, labor, and downtime in CMMS.
Train technicians and lead cost-saving initiatives; ensure safety and OSHA/EPA compliance.
Collaborate with other departments and vendors; follow standard procedures for work orders.
