Job summary

First Solar is seeking a Maintenance Technician 1 to perform on-site service and repair of facility and equipment. The role requires reading electrical and mechanical drawings and following safe work practices, with attention to 70% of estimated repair times and collaboration across departments.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent, with an associate’s degree in a technical field preferred, and 6 months of relevant manufacturing or related experience or military background.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate’s degree in a technical field preferred.
• 6 months First Solar manufacturing experience or 6 months outside manufacturing, mechanical, or agricultural experience.
• Military experience.
• Graduate from vocational High School with no experience required.

Responsibilities

• Accomplishes daily assignments as scheduled and as directed.
• Performs the on-site service and repair of equipment.
• Must meet at least 70% of Estimated Repair Times.
• Collaborates with other departments.
• Follows standard OSHA, EPA, and company safe practices on all work assignments.
• Ability to read electrical & mechanical drawings and technical manuals.
• Performs other assignments as required.
• Is responsible to manage waste generated from any work that is performed as instructed.
• Will complete First Solar Maintenance Technician 1 training program.
• Other duties as assigned.
