Job summary

First Solar is seeking a skilled maintenance technician to perform on-site maintenance of facility, equipment, and grounds in a cost-efficient manner. The role requires reading electrical and mechanical drawings, troubleshooting, and adhering to safety procedures, with potential to train others and lead when needed.

Ideal candidates hold a high school diploma/GED with 3+ years of maintenance experience (or related field), or 2-year technical schooling plus 3+ years, and may have a Journeyman's

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED with 3+ years maintenance experience, OR
• High school diploma/GED with 5+ years of experience in a related field, OR
• High school diploma/GED and 2-year technical school & 3+ years' experience.
• Journeyman's Card from an accredited apprenticeship program preferred.

Responsibilities

• Accomplishes daily assignments as scheduled and as directed.
• Performs on-site service and repair of equipment.
• Meet at least 90% of estimated repair times.
• Collaborates with other departments.
• Follows OSHA, EPA, and company safety practices on all work.
• Identifies opportunities for cost savings.
• May train other employees.
• May fill in as Team Lead if no tech III is available.
• Read electrical & mechanical drawings and technical manuals.
• Adhere to safety procedures and PPE requirements.
• Notify EHS if questions about hazardous waste management.
• Manage waste generated from work performed.
• Other duties as assigned.
