Job summary

First Solar is seeking an on-site maintenance professional to perform service and repair of facility equipment and grounds. The role requires reading electrical and mechanical drawings, adhering to safety standards, and collaborating with other departments.

A high school diploma/GED with 3+ years maintenance or equivalent is expected; Journeyman’s Card preferred. Candidate will work with CMMS to enter data and pull reports, follow OSHA/EPA guidelines, and support cost-saving initiatives.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED with 3+ years maintenance experience, or 5+ years in a related field, or 2-year technical school with 3+ years' experience.
• Journeyman’s Card from an accredited apprentice ship program preferred.

Responsibilities

• Accomplishes daily assignments as scheduled and as directed.
• Performs the on-site service and repair of equipment.
• Must meet at least 90% of Estimated Repair Times.
• Collaborates with other departments.
• Follows standard OSHA, EPA, and Company safe practices on all work assignments.
• Identifies and recommends opportunities for cost savings.
• May be asked to train other employees.
• If no tech III is available may be asked to fill in as Team Lead.
• Ability to read electrical & mechanical drawings and technical manuals.
• Responsible for adherence to all safety procedures, good housekeeping standards, and the wearing of PPE.
• Notify EHS Department if there are questions or concerns with the management of hazardous waste.
• Responsible to manage waste generated from any work that is performed.
