Job summary

First Solar, Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform on-site service and repair of facility equipment, maintain rigorous safety practices, and complete required training.

The role involves reading electrical and mechanical drawings, coordinating with other departments, and meeting target repair times. Qualification criteria include a high school diploma, technical field training, and specific manufacturing experience or military/vocational backgrounds.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate's degree in a technical field preferred.
• Must meet one of the following: 6 months First Solar manufacturing experience or 6 months outside manufacturing, mechanical, or agricultural experience or military experience or vocational high school graduate with no experience required.
• Must pass community college entrance exam and complete manufacturing maintenance training program.

Responsibilities

• Performs on-site service and repair of equipment.
• Accomplishes daily assignments as scheduled and as directed.
• Must meet at least 70% of Estimated Repair Times.
• Interfaces with other departments.
• Follows standard OSHA, EPA and company safe practices on all work assignments.
• Reads electrical & mechanical drawings and technical manuals.
• Performs other assignments as required.
• Responsible to manage waste generated from any work that is performed as instructed.
• Will complete First Solar Maintenance Technician 1 training program.
