Job summary

First Solar Inc. is seeking a Facility Technician to support Facilities and Maintenance operations, performing day-to-day maintenance and repairs of facility building equipment in a timely and cost-efficient manner.

The ideal candidate has broad knowledge of facility equipment and strong troubleshooting skills. Candidates may have a High School diploma with 5 years manufacturing experience, or skilled Electrical/Mechanical trade with 3 years, or an Associate degree with 3 years.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 5 years in manufacturing or relevant experience.
• Trade experience in electrical or mechanical sectors with 3 years in manufacturing.
• Associate degree with 3 years in manufacturing or relevant experience.
• Must be mechanically inclined with facilities systems knowledge.
• Experience with commercial building utility power, air compressors, fire detection, or facility systems.
• Able to detect and resolve problems using professional knowledge and strong problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of MAXIMO CMMS.

Responsibilities

• Interfaces with departments, contractors, and supplier personnel.
• Adhere to safety procedures and housekeeping standards.
• Identify opportunities for cost savings.
• Perform mechanical and plumbing work and basic electrical repairs.
• Follow up on work orders and perform preventative maintenance.
• Support campus moves and signage installations.
