Job summary

Hunt Companies, Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Director to oversee the upkeep of a 500–950 unit property portfolio. You will direct maintenance staff, manage safety, and drive preventive programs while coordinating with property leadership to maximize cash flow and asset value.

The role requires strong leadership, experience in multi-unit residential maintenance, and a hands-on approach to safety, inspections, and vendor management. On-site work with occasional on-call duties is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
• 4–6 years of building maintenance experience.
• Experience managing staff is preferred.
• Knowledge of electrical, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, and general building maintenance.
• Ability to work outside in all weather and lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, hire, train, coach, evaluate, and discipline maintenance staff up to termination.
• Manage property financial performance within the approved budget and maximize cash flow.
• Schedule, train, supervise, and evaluate maintenance personnel; ensure compliance with training.
• Ensure property goals for response and completion times are met.
• Prioritize work orders and follow up to ensure timely completion.
• Oversee purchase orders, vendor relationships, and contract compliance.
